John C. Panepinto, PsyD, LCMHCS, NCC, holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s in counseling, and is a Certified Sports Counselor. Dr. Panepinto has been helping athletes and coaches to optimize performance for over two decades. As a certified tennis professional, the highest professional designation of the Professional Tennis Registry
(PTR), and a former elite competitor, he has a comprehensive view of development as an athlete, coach, and individual. With a specialty in Sports Psychology and Sports Counseling, he has offered a variety of services to athletes, performers, and coaches.

Dr. Panepinto has worked with athletes from several sports up to elite levels, including tennis, baseball, football, swimming, and volleyball. He writes and presents on the psychology of sports, and has been a regular contributor for Tennis Pro. His articles on diverse aspects of psychology and development have been published in psychology journals. In addition, he has developed content and courses on sports psychology, mental toughness, and emotional intelligence for athletes and parents, as well as a continuing education course for the ISPA.

His professional experience, along with being married and raising two children (both competitive athletes!), have helped him to frame healthy development and well-being in a long-term and balanced perspective. This integrated approach to development informs his current practice of helping and educating others.
